  • ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation, Phase 4) is a UK government-backed scheme that helps households make their homes more energy efficient. It’s mainly aimed at low-income or vulnerable households such as a person living in the property suffering from a health condition worsened by the cold, or receiving certain benefits, and those living in homes with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating. Eligibility depends on your income, the benefits you receive, and how energy-efficient your home currently is.

  • The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a separate initiative focusing mainly on insulation upgrades for homes with poor energy efficiency ratings. Unlike ECO4, it’s open to a wider range of households, though you’ll still need to meet certain criteria, such as having a low EPC rating or living in a council tax band A–D home (A–E in Scotland and Wales).

  • HUG2 is designed for off-gas homes in England that have low energy efficiency ratings and lower household incomes. It helps fund a variety of improvements, from insulation to renewable heating systems, to reduce energy costs for homes not connected to the main gas grid.

  • In most cases, you can’t receive funding from multiple schemes for the same measure (e.g., loft insulation). However, you might qualify for different upgrades under different schemes, depending on your circumstances. We can help check this for you.

  • Eligible upgrades typically include:

    • Loft, cavity wall, and solid wall insulation

    • Floor and roof insulation

    • Heating upgrades (e.g., replacing old, inefficient boilers or switching to heat pumps)

    • Solar panels

    • Smart heating controls

The exact measures depend on the scheme and your home’s needs.

  • We offer flexible payment plans, including low-interest or interest-free finance, so you can spread the cost of your home upgrades. This means you can still make your home more energy efficient, even without government support.

  • Yes. If funding covers part of the cost but you want additional upgrades or higher-spec products, you can pay the difference privately or through a finance plan.

  • No. We’re transparent from the start. Surveys and applications for funded schemes are free, and you’ll never face surprise charges.

  • Yes. All funded and privately paid installations include a manufacturer’s warranty, typically lasting between 2 and 10 years, depending on the product (for example, new boilers usually carry a 5–10 year warranty).

Our approved installers also provide workmanship guarantees, giving you peace of mind that any issues will be fixed at no extra cost during the warranty period.

  • Yes, At Warmr, we offer tailored packages that allow you to combine multiple energy-efficient upgrades, such as solar panels, heat pumps, battery storage, or boilers, to maximise your home’s efficiency and savings.

Our experts will assess your property and create a bespoke plan that suits your needs and budget. You can choose privately funded upgrades with flexible financing options (up to 4 years 0% APR*) or explore fully/part-funded options through schemes like ECO4, HUG, or GBIS if eligible.

Combining upgrades can enhance your EPC rating, reduce energy bills by up to £1,050 annually, and increase your property’s value by up to 15%.
