How does an air source heat pump work?
An air source heat pump takes warmth from the outside air — even when it feels cold outside — and uses it to heat your home and hot water. It works a little like a fridge in reverse, and because it moves heat rather than burning fuel, it produces several units of heat for every unit of electricity it uses.
Will a heat pump keep my home warm in winter?
Yes. A properly sized and installed heat pump will keep your home comfortably warm right through a British winter. Heat pumps are designed to work in cold weather and are used successfully in far colder countries than the UK. Our team makes sure your system is sized correctly for your home.
How much can I save with a heat pump?
Savings depend on the heating system you are replacing and your energy use. Homes moving away from older, less efficient systems often see a meaningful drop in running costs, and grants may help with the upfront price. A free assessment will give you a clearer picture for your home.
Do I need to replace my radiators?
Not always. Heat pumps run at a lower temperature than a traditional boiler, so some homes benefit from larger radiators or underfloor heating to get the best results. During your free survey we check your existing radiators and let you know if any changes are worthwhile.
Are there grants available for heat pumps?
You may qualify for government-backed support towards the cost of a heat pump. The amount and eligibility depend on your circumstances and property. The easiest way to find out is a quick, no-obligation eligibility check with our team.
